OpenSuSE 11 PPC - Restricted Formats

Does anyone  know a one-click-install (codecs-Kde) for a ppc machine (openSuSE 11)

I can’t watch a youtube video on my browser!!
the plugin for mozilla doesn’t work

if you know a way to wath youtube video, please post an answer-tutorial-one-click-install-anything

by the way, congrats to the SuSE team for the ppc version, it’s great, run almost perfect (codecs!!)

I do not have a PPC, but I like to try help with multimedia issues that openSUSE users might have.

Which plugin does not work? Is it the vlc-mozillaplugin?

Unfortunately many of the programs required to provide full codec capabilities is too dependent on the x86 architecture (like some parts of ffdshow I believe).

I tried to get it all to work on PS3 (64-bit PPC) but never got it working properly.

I wonder if there is any chance that the build service could help out here. Or is the PPC user base too small to make this worth while?

That would be libffmpeg and not ffdshow - been doing too much video work on Windows lately

I’m not quite sure how the win32codecs handle themselves on PPC, most likely they don’t at all - I have to take another round at PPC64 on my PS3 and see if any of the issues have been cleared. It’s a shame the PS3 is so horrible crippled (Only 2 cores, 256MB of memory out of 512 etc.)
