Hello!
The openSUSE 11 KDE4 and Gnome Live CD fail to initialize after the initial screen showing the kernel loading…the screen freezes with the progress bar on the openSUSE green page not moving and nothing happenning.
BUT the system comes up fine in the failsafe mode.
After experimenting a bit, the only option that NEEDS to be passed in the boot options to get the system up an running is:
acpi=off
I have removed everything else from the boot options and my system is up an running 
And i am writing this post immediately after using Konqueror!!
