When I want to install a RPM with KPackage, i get this error: “There is a problem by logging in, please log in manually” (in german: “Es gibt ein Problem beim Anmelden, Bitte melden Sie sich manuell an”.
But logging in manually doesn`t work.
But installing packages with “rpm -i packagename.rpm” does work.
I have the same problem, kpackage asks for the root password then it reports an error and asks for a manual loggon, this doesn’t work also. I don’t wan’t to run kpackage as root because it caches the rpms.
I only use it to install 3-rd party rpm’s.
Can this be a sudo-ers problem ?
I’m using OpenSUSE 11 without updates.
Well yes it’s a sudo thing, not a bug
To fix it:
Open kpackage as an regular user, Go to Settings → Configure kpackage, in the Misc tab sellect sudo command.
That’s it now kpackage works rotfl!
