openSUSE 11.4 RC1 sound not work

I have laptop ASUS K51 with soun card VIA VT1708S. After install and many settings sound not work. With openSUSE 11.3 this sound card work fine, except microphone skype.

Have you checked you kmix volume ? Install alsamiexer if it is no aready installed and run alsamixer in terminal and check the PCM volume.

I would first check Yast>Hardware>Sound and check if your soundcard is setup properly. Then check Yast>Hardware>Sound>Other>Volume and make sure output sound settings are not at zero (muted) and have high enough levels set. Then check similarly check all KMix and alsamixer levels.

Soun in openSUSE 11.4 RC2 work fine.
