Third thing: I tried it in Windows 7 (32 bit, Professional), and NET installer fail with error:

---------------------------
openSUSE 11.4 installer (NET)
Cannot exec bcdedit.exe
OK

Edit:
If I run installer in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3, it fails with error as I wrote the first.
The windows installer is one of my pet hates I’m afraid. It usually results in a bit of a mess. Typically, the installer leaves a copy of itself in windows and a menu to it in grub.
Additionally
I’m not sure it’s that wise to use development software for this procedure anyway. Especially if you are not that familiar with it either.
I changed menu.lst to right settings and it works. But I told about that 'cause I would like to know, if it’s something, what everybody knows (and it isn’t written anywhere – google couldn’t help me).
And so about USB installation - if I want to do NET install, why I have to dd (or “imagewriter”) .iso of full install? If I use NET .iso, it isn’t bootable. Ok, I can use LIVE CD .iso, but I like clear custom installation. LIVE is predefined… Do you have any ideas to NET installation from USB stick?
You did it only by dd? Ok, I will try it again. But I bet that it will not work…
It isn’t truth, that you can manage installed software in installation wizard from Live CD. The wizard has less options. For example even Software heading isn’t in the Summary, and next (at the start of wizard) I couldn’t change Automatic configuration to Manual. Your image seems to be from full installer or leastwise from 11.3 LIVE CD installer. I tried to install from Live CD in VirtualBox before I tried to wrote this thread…
As i wrote, dded NET .iso doesn’t work as bootable from USB flash… I used Dell USB Memory key 256MB.
This thing i tried just year ago, but with NET .iso Build1056 (OpenSUSE 11.4 RC1) it isn’t better. If I try larger USB key with LIVE .iso, it boots right.
