Well, so far most every issue I have run in to has some sort of solution. The issue I had with the Partitioner was with the right click menu when held over the partition default listing on the right. You can right click and pick edit, new, delete and so forth, but they do not work for me. To see this issue you would need to want to change the default partitioning. What I discovered was that you had to change your default selection in the default device tree on the left such that for each hard drive was displayed by its self and the new, edit, delete options show up an the bottom of the partition listing for that drive and then you could take the desired actions you wanted to use.
So, did anyone make a manual edit of their partitions using the openSUSE partitioner and notice that the mouse right click commands, which do show up, do not actually work in openSUSE 11.4 M6 of 6?

Yes, and I am sure that I have seen a bug report for this, but I cannot find it now.

Hello eng-int and thanks for your comments. I have not placed a bug report due to the fact I loaded openSUSE 11.4 from the defective DVD posted online. So, I am trying to ascertain if a bug report should be made. Based on your comments, the answer would be yes.
chief_sealth I was able to delete and resize from the context menu, but maybe I don’t understand exactly what you’re describing.
Hello chief_sealth and thanks for your comments. So, if you go into any custom Partitioning, you can right click on a Partition and get a menu to use for editing your present setup. I found that the right-click menu came up and had the correct options, but nothing happens when you make a selection. If you accepted the default Partition setup, then you would not have seen this problem. Also, I loaded openSUSE 11.4 from the DVD which had problems. So, I don’t know if this was just the bad DVD or general to all copies of openSUSE 11.4 M6.
The problem is that the “Edit” option appears when no partition is actually selected. If you use the left pane to select a drive or partition, then the right-click Edit menu option (in the right pane) is effective. I am sure that I have commented on this before, but I cannot find iit either in these fora or in bugzilla – perhaps I am losing my mind.
I believe I chose “Edit,” not Custom. Different thing.
chief_sealth, so no matter how you get to it, I would think the Partitioner would react the same way. What copy of openSUSE 11.4 M6 did you load on your PC? Again, I used the Defective DVD to install openSUSE 11.4, not the LiveCD’s.
Thanks for your comments ah7013. So, is there someone here that has observed the problem with the Partitioner right-click menus not working that did not install openSUSE from the defective DVD, but a LiveCD, that could then post a bug report for the Partitioner in openSUSE 11.4 M6? I think since we are so close to RC1, this needs to reported real soon. Since I did not load openSUSE 11.4 from a good burn, anything I might report would be suspect (though one might argue this would always be so for me :)).
I’m using the Gnome live CD.
chief_sealth, I thought you indicated you had not seen the problem? Lets just say that if you did see the problem, you could certainly report the issue.
Right now, anyone with openSUSE 11.4 M6 installed could do the following to see if they have the issue. What I suggest is you go into the Partitioner, attempt to bring up the Partition editor and abort it if it does come up for you.
Open YaST and enter the root user password.
Select the System Category on the left column.
On the right side, select the Partitioner.
Press the Yes button to the Warning message.
Right Click on sda1 (or any partition that ends with a number) and pick edit
Does the Edit Partition Window Come Up? (Yes or No)
Did you install openSUSE 11.4 from a LiveCD? (Yes or No)
If you can answer NO to question 6 and YES to question 7, then you can place a bug report on the Partitioner Right-Click menus as not working. I beg anyone that can help here to do so.
chief_sealth I installed M6 from the live CD. I was responding to your first question as to what I loaded on my PC.
Your input is welcome chief_sealth.
