openSUSE 11.4 install snmpd

Hi

I need help installing the SNMP deamon on a machine running openSUSE 11.4. I can’t see an option for 11.4 here http://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=net-snmp%3Afactory&package=net-snmp so were do I find the correct package for 11.4 and how do I install it? I’m a complete noob in suse so if you’d give me complete commands for the installation I’d appreciate it, I’ll be able to configure it myself.

Thanks!

Is there a reason you went with 11.4? That version has been unsupported for nearly two years now. I’m not surprised you’re unable to find the package for it. Would you be able to use Leap 42.2 or Tumbleweed, instead?

Hi
Can you confirm it’s openSUSE on not SLES 11 SP4?

cat /etc/os-release

If you have the install media the package is net-snmp, you can install
either via YaST Software Management, or from the command line;

zypper in net-snmp

Customer’s servers so I don’t really know.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Server 1:

Server 2:

When I try
zypper in net-snmp
or
zypper install net-snmp

I get this

So I think I’m missing the package. How do I procced to add it?

With rpm?

Thanks!

Hi
Well, for either system you will need the install media…

I’m also guessing no repos?

zypper lr

So for Server 1;
Download the 11.4 iso image…
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/discontinued/distribution/11.4/iso/

For Server 2;
Download DVD1 only (DVD2 is src rpms);

You can then add the iso images as local repos via YaST Software Repositories.
