OpenSuSE 11.4 64 bit Network Upgrade : Desktop Ikons Disappeared

Dear Forum

  • i have just completed update to 11.4 : all my Desktop Ikons have disappeared

My Ikons were old-style KDE3 type displayed over entire desktop

Please, HOW can I restore my Ikons ??

Right Click on your Desktop and select Desktop Settings. Under Layout, then select Folder View and then elect to Apply this setting. This should cause your old icons to reappear. Other issues can also exist, but you must take this one step first.

  • thank you for your reply : have added Folder View , and now see my Home Directory

  • No Ikons yet

. . . any ideas where to look : which directory the old settings may be stored ??

Try pointing the Folder view to the ~/Desktop folder that is where they should be.

Icons re-appeared : SOLUTION was :

ADD ACTIVITIES → next click on 1st Activity menu
