opensuse 11.3 wired connection problems.

Hi,

I have just installed opensuse 11.3 on my dell xps 8700 desktop. Both wired and wireless connection not working. Here are some details about network cards:

03:00.0 Ethernet Controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 0c)
04:00.0 Network Controller: Atheros Communication Inc. Device 0032 (rev 01)

03:00.0 0200: 10ec:8168 (rev 0c)
04:00.0 0280: 168c:0032 (rev 01)

Need some help here.

Thanks,
Danny

Do yourself a favour and download+install a more recent version. Support for 11.3 stopped ages ago. The hardware on your laptop is probably to new for 11.3. Both devices should work with a more recent kernel than the one provided with 11.3. Currently 12.3 is the latest stable version. My 2 cents: download a Live KDE or GNOME image, it allows you to run openSUSE from USB stick (or a DVD) and will thus give you a good impression about what works and what doesn’t.
