I installed openSUSE 11.3 with KDE4 on three different computers. Only one of them has the following problem:
When I use my Sandisk Cruzer USB-stick (FAT32 formatted), copying is extremely slow.
Also, the taskbarpanel notifier does not show a progressbar or a cancel button during copying. It only shows that is copying but I can not cancel.
On the other two computers, the same stick works ok.
The computer has the following mainboard: Asus M4A87TD/USB3
The disappeared progressbar was caused by a theme that I installed. Changing the theme again brought back the normal notifier.
The “slow” copying to the usb-stick was just my impression. I measured the time it took to write a big file (> 1 GB) to the stick
and the calculated average writespeed was 3.47 MB/sec. which seems to be normal for a Sandisk Cruzer 8GB.
