I’ve just installed OpenSUSE 11.3 on my dell laptop
As the last step, I wanted to configure printers. At office, all printers are managed via a cups server, so I went into yast2-> hardware, printer ->print via netwrok, clicked on
“do all prinitnig via One SIngle CUPS Server” and put there the CUPS server name
Clicking on “test server” it says that cups server is accessible
Npoo in printer configuration I see all the printers I am supposed to see.
But if I click on “print test page” I get the following message
Password for root on cups-ifc? /usr/bin/lp: Upgrade Required
This same procedure has been performed on an 11.2 and 11.1 system, and printing works flawlessly
If I try to prent directly from the command line from I user account I get
> lpr -P lp6 p.ps
Password for bianca on cups-ifc?
and whatever I input, the answer is
lpr: Upgrade Required
and no printing is performed
I have cups client 1.4.4-2.3, on the laptop, what should I upgrade to? And which password does it want?
Thanks for any help
