openSUSE 11.3 Packman Repository

Hi,

I just upgraded from openSUSE 11.2 to 11.3. However it appears to me that Packman Repos still belongs in 11.2 because I cannot update it to 11.3 version. Is there any harm in running multimedia applications with Packman repo enabled under 11.3?

Thanks for your reply.

I do not understand your post. There are packman repositories for 11.3

Take a look here: Additional package repositories - openSUSE

Using openSUSE-11.2 packaged applications on 11.3 is NOT recommended.

Hello oldcpu,

Problem solved: I deleted the old 11.2 repository then added the new (11.3) repository. Originally I had thought by simply replacing 2 with 3 I would be able to change, but I did not know these repos have different URLs, thus I wasn’t able to “update” or change to a higher version.

Howzit Folks?

The openSUSE documentation at page Additional package repositories - openSUSE states that the Belgian packman repo is at http://packman.mirrors.skynet.be/pub/packman/suse/11.3 but it clearly isn’t. Is there an error on the skynet website or an error in the openSUSE documentation? I did report it to them about a month ago but I haven’t had a response. Is this something I could/should fix in the openSUSE documentation, if so please let me know and I’ll gladly oblige?

Cheers
Bruce

I recall some talk on the Packman mailing list that it was not being updated and it was not clear if it was dropping support for Packman. I recommend you instead use gwdg.de site.
