opensuse 11.3 internet connexion is not completed

Dear all,

I just finished of updating my opensuse 11.2 to 11.3 … after correctly installing
the new ISO image, I went to configure the internet connexion. I already included
the three ipv4.etc. lines in the \sbin\config file, and although the sites requested
are found the full connexion to them is not completed, and further links from a given
site are not even charged … I remember that I had to do a similar process with
opensuse 11.2 last year, but I forgot the set of steps to succeed in fully accessing
internet connexion …

can some SUSE fellow help me to fix that problem ?

Thank you to everyone,

HermanMosquera

DNS problem? Please check what you have in /etc/resolv.conf and test your DNS with ‘dig’.

I’m sorry you configured what 3 IPv4 lines in /sbin/config?
And can you explain your problem again?

Can you ping?

ping -c 5 127.0.0.1
ping -c 5 192.168.x.x ## your gateway or router address
ping -c 5 www.yahoo.com

Post output from

ifconfig

Are you using knetworkmanager, networkmanager or ifup/ifdown?

Are you using static or DHCP IPv4 addressing?

Can you post output from

tail -n 25 /var/log/warn
tail -n 25 /var/log/messages

after you try to complete a internet connect?
