Opensuse 11.3. How to Net wirelessly?

I am learning to use and adapt Linux. I need to know how to connect to the Net wirelessly. The system is equipped with a wired adapter and a built-in Atheros AR5007EG wireless device. They work fine in Windows. The wired part works fine in OpenSuse but I have no idea how to tell OpenSuse that there is a wireless device. I believe OpenSuse doesn’t see the wireless device. If I need to abolish OpenSuse and re-install with another flavor of Linux then that is fine as long as I can connect to the Net wirelessly. Due to my ignorance of Linux lingo please reply in plain English. Sincerely Regards, Y4Net.

I assume you mean OpenSuse 10.3. As that is the current release and 11.0 isn’t officially out yet

for atheros wifi you need madwifi to make it work

Atheros madwifi - openSUSE

Thanks for replying. Yes,I meant v10.3. How/where do I get Atheros madwifi? I am assuming it is some sort of driver? Can you help to provide steps how to download, and install it? Sincerely Regards. Y4Net.

The link in my previous post takes you to instructions on installing Madwifi.

The easiest way is through YAST, but there are other ways to get it on too that are listed in that link.
