So, what are you connected by USB that does not work in openSUSE 11.3 and 11.4? There are some USB 3 issues I know of and a NTFS partition issue with 11.4, but no problems with many other USB devices. So, we know about your computer, but we do not know about the USB device that does not work and if you are loading 32 or 64 bit openSUSE versions.

Thank You,

-=WELCOME=- new poster…

when you have this problem is openSUSE installed on the bare metal
machine, or is it installed a VM running on the machine? in what VM is
it running in, and what is the host system the VM is running in??

assuming openSUSE is in a VM, then:

note 1: not all no-cost VMs can access USB drives or devices…

note 2: most (all? many? some?) VMs must be properly setup to use
drives/devices attached to the host machine…that setup requirement
does not depend on which operating system is installed in the VM,
because it is not an openSUSE problem instead it is a VM setup
problem–consult the VM’s documentation or forum…
