OpenSUSE 11.2 Windows 7 dual boot - Installation failed

Hi

I am new to Linux. Want to setup openSUSE 11.2 in dual boot configuration along side Windows 7.

I freed 30GB space on harddisk and started install with all default options. Installation completed and it did automatic initial reboot… and got stuck there. It stuck with openSUSE logo screen with a progressbar line under the logo. Progress line move a bit and stuck there … no error display or nothing, just sits there. What can I do to complete the install. I tried selecting Failsafe openSUSE(from GRUB options) and it did not work also, got stuck in the text screen.

Config:
openSUSE 11.2 DVD version install
HP laptop(model dv4-1551dx) Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 4GB RAM, 320GB total disk space, Freed 30GB for Linux

Thanks for the help.

Check up on the ISO image file’s md5 sum. If it turns out to be a broken image file, your only recourse is to re-download openSUSE. I’d advise you to use BitTorrent this time since it’s a more reliable method and there’s less chance of getting a broken ISO image if you download it that way.

when you get on grub, you can type in

splash=verbos

in the grub menu, then you can see what it freezes on. Also this should have been posted on install/boot/login.
