opensuse 11.2 not shut down

for some reason, my opensuse 11.2 can not shut down as normal.
by pressing ctrl-alt-F1 and issuing “init 0”, the console displays the following messages and then stops there.

Segmentation fault
Master Resource control: runlevel 0 has been reached
skipped services in runlevel 0: SuSEfirewall2_setup

I have to push power button to shut down it.
Anyone knows how to fix this? thanks

You need to find out which program is seg faulting.

This is a fairly widespread problem with kernel 2.6.31.12-0.1.1.i586
It is described in bugzilla at https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=578222
You can get around it by going back to 2.6.31.8-0.1, or installing the latest kernel from Index of /repositories/Kernel:/openSUSE-11.2/openSUSE_11.2/i586
