Hello!
If you want to use your Nokia 5800 as a USB 3G modem in openSUSE 11.2 through NetworkManager (Gnome nm-applet or KDE’s knetworkmanager), you will probably* need to update modemmanager package:
- Add this repository (you can probably use any other, which has modemmanager of version 3.*):Index of /repositories/home:/tambet:/NetworkManager-0-8/openSUSE_11.2
- Install modemmanager
(note double “m” in the name) package from this repository 1. Remove the repository and reboot (or you can probably restart some services instead, but reboot is simpler)
Note 1: * Nokia 5800 might just work if you have older firmware (<= 40.), but since v. 50. it stops working.
Note 2: It should work in openSUSE 11.3 out of the box (I tested it with openSUSE 11.3 RC2 LiveCD).
Note 3: I suppose this update might work also for Nokia 5530, Nokia 5235 and similar v.9.* Symbian phones.
