openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 5 LiveUSB persistence

Yesterday, I’ve written a comparison of openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 5 and Kubuntu Karmic Daily Build LiveUSB setups over at Lizards.o.o

I’m wondering if some fellow openSUSE community member is able to extend this howto in order to make the openSUSE 11.2 setup a persistent one. So far, I myself was not able to achieve this and thus I share this here again to get some valuable input. From my perspective the ability to deploy the LiveCD image directly to USB flash media (as of 11.2 Milestone 4) is a great step ahead compared to the solution we had previously, but the lack of persistence still is a significant drawback compared to the Kubuntu setup.

Any ideas/comments/suggestions are much appreciated!

Brief Update on this:

Beineri made me aware of UNOFFICIAL oemtype, i.e. persistent, raw usb-images available here
I posted my very personal experience with them here and I’d appreciate further testing from fellow openSUSE community members.
