Opensuse 11.2 liveusb

Hello all I have tried to make a live USB with opensuse 11.2 and unetbootin but doesn’t work, after some googling I found about the ability of 11.2 to create live USB but I don’t have Linux and so I can’t execute the dd comand

It is possible to install low level bash type commands on windows, which might work, but would probably be excessive for this…

My recommendation would be to make a Live CD and do it from that - assuming you have a Windows system with a CD drive?

hi , i’m a new to linux user, above beginer but below novice. I wanted to do the same and found this link. i got the usb to boot w/ it but it didn’t fully start RC2. Mabey it’ll help you, and you could put something here if it does.
How to Make openSUSE 11.1 LiveUSB | Spirit of Change

Hi,
i managed to create 11.2 RC2 liveusb with unetbootin,
from openSUSE-KDE4-LiveCD-Build0339-i686.iso

after unetbootin has finished creating the live usb,
you have to edit the livecd mbrid file located at /pathtoyourliveusb/boot/grub/
, change it with your liveusb device’s mbrid

you can get your liveusb device’s mbrid with this command

dd if=/dev/sdx bs=1 count=4 skip=$((0x1b8))|hexdump -n4 -e '"0x%x"'
