OpenSuse 11.2 is not stable? restart without reason and hangs

I’m running OpenSuse 11.2 on my AMD phenom triple core
160GB hard disk
Nvidia card

sometimes opensuse without any reason e.g while im surfing the web

any idea why?

it’s already happen 2-3 times without valid reason

it hangs too

Not much to go on here: how do you know it’s “without valid reason”? What, indeed, is a “valid reason”? And what happens when it “hangs”, what were you doing and what were the symptoms?

i restart the box

I don’t know it just stop working or auto restart

hardware failure? or instability?

do you get any hint from the logs in /var/logs/ ?

did this just begin, suddenly? or was it like that the very first
hours after install?

is it a new install (your first?) or is it an upgrade over a well
running 11.1 system, or what?

give us some information, we can’t begin to guess if it is something
you messed up trying to install a program after two months of
everything running smoothly, or if you had a bad install, or what…

i mean, where should we begin??? like, it could be as easy as–oh!
you have a faulty install, so:

  1. did you check the md5sum of the downloaded iso?
  2. burn the disk as slow as you can?
  3. use good media?
  4. do this before install attempt?

if you answered “no” (or “don’t know”) to any of those then see the
following cites, and if we can help further, pleas ask because we want
you to be successful:

or, it might be: oh! you have far too many conflicting repos enabled,
so please show us the output of:

zypper lr -d

or, it might be: Oh! you have a weak power supply, so:

  1. how old is your machine’s power supply?
  2. is it large enough to provide stable, smooth power?
  3. etc

or, it might be as easy as: is this a very new machine and if so have
you checked the RAM by running memtest at least 12 straight hours?

or . . . etc etc etc

see why we can’t just tell you the solution when we have no real idea
of the symptoms…

read this, please:
and, then come back with some helpful info, so maybe we can help you…

As mentioned,more info is needed.
Without any further info I could only suggest running Memtest86 over night. The obvious reply with not enough info.
