OpenSUSE 11.1 wireless issue

I have a Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX with an Atheros AR252x - the Kernel is Ath5k, I just put OpenSuse 11.1 on it and I kept getting a string of letters and numbers after doing an ifconfig instead of the 192.168.x.x I was expecting to see. I am currently running through the process again and this time it’s giving me that the AP isn’t associated. Can anyone please help either issue?

The string of letters and numbers is probably an IPv6 address. Try turning IPv6 off through yast.

If you can’t associate, then you can’t get use DHCP to get an IP address.

The Association worked before, I’m not sure why it isn’t now.

Getting Your Wireless to Work - openSUSE Forums

Use the script mentioned in #3.

I’ve noticed the kill commands a few times this time around but I’ve no idea how to get rid of them and turn the card back on. >_<

Sorry, my crystal ball is not able to resolve what you mean.

The kill commands mentioned in section 3 of the wireless how to.

And still I don’t know, what the exact messages are.

How about posting them, or even better, post the output file of the script?

Give me a few and I will.
