Hi all.
(sorry for my English first - i`m from Russia.)
I`m start to use linux from 2000 year. My first distributive was RedHat 6.2. Next - Fedora Core. Now - openSUSE 11.1
-
I`m impressed by stability of openSUSE.
-
Yast2 - good idea
All administrative tools is collected in one place. Also i can use yast - for console and remote work.

I
m long time use other linux distros, and when i have crashed something, all rescue options is boot with rescue DVD and chroot /mnt/blabla - for handworking. (i can this, sure), but two days ago, i
m do some experiment and destroy some part of my system. When i`m insert installation DVD - all system was restored, and all work exellent! Great work guys! openSUSE have the very clever, best installer, i think. -
Great package collection from openSUSE standard and from community repositories. Sad, but FedoraCore (i
m don
t understand what happens, but most releases is really not usable, long time ) make some insane “release” race, as i can see… Some time ago im test FC9 distro and this not look good.. Now on site i
m see version 10…11… Stability - is not the hi-priority in FC philosophy… I`m understand, what i just must use another linux distributive, after many years of using RedHat and FedoraCore… -
May i
m wrong, but openSUSE wine build - is fastest than i can see in other distros! It really fast! I
m dont need many windows programs, but i
m test very many and i can say - openSUSE wine build is best…This is really usable.
And now im really happy with openSUSE 11.1. Some problems with software and drivers - is not a pain. Now i
m have openSUSE 11.1 on my home computer and on my work computer. All so-workers are impressed
Im use WindowMaker for long time, but stability of Gnome and XFCE from openSUSE - is awesome. Now i
m use XFCE4 - and i like it. (WindowMaker - is smallest and fastest WM -i`m big fan of WindowMaker. in openSUSE i have many WM applets - very nice:) )
Thanks you guys for your work:) This is a right way! I`m feel myself is very comfortable in openSUSE 11.1, as never before. (long time ago, FedoraCore 2 was very nice distributive - but now- is not…)
Thanks you!
