OpenSuSE 11.1 problem with Nautilus crashing on removable mediaafter system updates

Since I installed updates earlier this week, I have a problem with
Nautilus whenever removable media are inserted. The system is fine until
the media is mounted, then the CPU utilization goes to 100%. Watching the
processes list in top, it appears that Nautilus is being launched,
crashing somehow, and being launched again. The top list keeps showing
Nautilus in it, but he PID is constantly changing, and it is sometimes
shown as “nautilus <defunct>”.

Kernel is 2.6.27.37-0.1-pae
Gnome is gdm-2.26.1-4.24 from the Gnome:Stable repo

Any suggestions for troubleshooting this would be appreciated.

Well, I don’t know what was causing it, but I downgraded Nautilus to
2.24.1-6.4 from the openSUSE-11.1-Oss repository, then upgraded it again
to 2.26.4-1.5 from the Gnome:Stable repository. That seems to have fixed
it.

Downgrading Nautilus to 2.24 helped. Going back to 2.26, the problem
returned after a system restart.
