Have recently installed OpenSuSE 11.1 with KDE 3.5 and notice 30-60 sec response delay on clicking the menu (chameleon) button. During the delay the hard drive disk busy light is on, as is the busy light of any connected USB disk drive. This typically happens on the first use of the menu button after booting. Subsequent clicking on the menu button results in immediate response. This problem occurs on both 32-and 64-bit installations. What gives? This didn’t happen on OpenSuSE 11.0. I suspect some kind of indexing may be going on. Beagle? Kerry? I tried disabling/removing Beagle/Kerry but the problem continued.
