Whoow - after one day of using version 11.1 (32bit) this seems to be a VISTA like update. Now my PC is really slow. And I really mean SLOW. How can this be possible? There must be something badly wrong in GUI,X,KDE or GNOME.This remains me like remote desktop via old 64kbit modem whit 24bit colors.
I don’t see those small icons next to clock. Only black boxes. Screen resolution and device recognition don’t work. This is major downgrade from version 11. What are you doing? This is not development this is regression.
This is a much like XP to VISTA “upgrade”. Noothing works!>:)>:)>:)>:)>
Please take your dissing to soapbox. Obviously your graphics driver is not configured properly. If you want to do something other than complain about it, run sax2 -r from the command line.
IMHO do not waste your time to find what is missing, or what is wrong with your settings packages. Wipe your hard drive, and install a fresh system.
You can’t compare it to any Windows upgrade, when you insert your update disk click to setup and just wait to finish. It updates everything, saves your previous configuration, setting and after your system is happy again… Here the upgrade is completely different. Boot from DVD if it crashes try some extra boot parameters. If it isn’t select the update method. Wait while it updates your system. Reboot. If your video driver working, you can log into some Graphical Session to start everything from the beginning. Set up your music player, you favorite themes, your bookmarks, everything.
I also want to try DVD upgrade. It’ll be very funny. >:)
