OpenSuse 11.1 Intel 82801G : no sound on spidif

Hi,

I upgraded from Suse 11.0 to 11.1 without trouble for quite sometimes and thing are working great on my asus eeebox. Couple days ago installed Intel 2D display driver 945GME Express Integrated Graphics Controller to have better support for that card, this is what I installed fine Intel Linux Graphics: Downloads.
Also installed VLC and enjoyed DVD with AC3 sound with VLC option A52 over spidif.

Now since then I found out that I no longer have sound on the spidif to my receiver, the receiver dectect the link at 48000 Khz and aplay is just happy see output bellow. Headphone output is OK. This was all working fine couple days ago…Not sure what causes the problem and this is were I ask for some help before re-installing the whole lot >:(
What is odd is that VLC is ok with DVD and AC3 contents on the same link ( so the physical link seems ok) but it seems PCM just does not work. Maybe it is not odd it’s me not knowing about all this stuff.

Any suggestion how I can troubleshoot this. I try reseting the driver in yAST without success…

Thanks
Jean-Marc

It seems VLC caused the problem when switching to A52 over spdif to get AC3 my asound.state got messed up. Switching back to normal in vlc did not help neither reboot. De-installed VLC then renamed asound.state and reboot fixed my issue.
