openSuse 11.1 HP Pavillion dv4-1212 no sounds

Hi, I’m having a problem with my sound on my laptop.
I have OpenSUSE 11.1 on a HP Pavillion dv5-1235la laptop.

My alsa info is:

My cat /etc/modprobe.d/sound is:

options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4 enable_msi=1
options snd slots=snd-hda-intel,snd-hda-intel

alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks. After a quick look (I have to rush off to work so can’t spend much time on this) it appears your sound should work. This could be a mixer problem:
!!Amixer output
!!-------------

!!-------Mixer controls for card 0 [SB]

Card hw:0 ‘SB’/‘HDA ATI SB at 0x92500000 irq 16’
Mixer name : ‘IDT 92HD71B7X’
Simple mixer control ‘Master’,0
Mono: Playback 64 [100%] [0.00dB] off]
Simple mixer control ‘PCM’,0
Capabilities: pvolume
Front Left: Playback 105 41%] -30.00dB]
Front Right: Playback 105 41%] -30.00dB]
Your PC’s audio is muted by having the Master volume switched OFF. You need to swtich that ON.

Also, my understanding from posts of HP DV5 users is their volume control is not linear, and volume only comes in the upper part of the control. So move both the Master and PCM volume up to 95% for testing.
