OpenSuse 11.1 [final] stops responding

Hi!

I have a very very annoying problem with OS[short for OpenSuse, not for operating systme]: The problem is that sometimes, the OS just freezes. Restarting the X-Server is not possible (most of the times, sometimes it works…!)…

I have tried disabling all types of stuff, from fancy compiz, to switching to kde4 from gnome…

Ah yeah, before I forget, I had to all i8042.nomux=1 to the grub parameter, to get my mouse properly working…

NOTE that with OS11.0, my mouse didn’t work properly at all, even with the above hack…but had no such problems…

My computer specs are as follows:
->XP-SP3 on sda1 dual booting with OpenSuse 11.1 on sda6[ext3] and sda7[swap], using the ntldr as the main bootstraper (on the mbr)

->Dell m1530 (Laptop)
->CPU:IntelCore2Duo 2.0 T7250
->Ram:2GB ddr2
->HDD:250GB SATA
->GraphicCard:NVIDIA 8600M GT 512MB [256 dedicated]
->Sound:SigmaTel HD sound…

I would apperciate if you could let me where to look, so I would fix this problem…

Thanking you in advance

Is there anything in /var/log/messages?

i’ll have a look and get right back at ya…

btw, thanks for the prompt reply…
