openSUSE 11.1: D-Bus error after cancelled network/DSL configuration
Hello,
I have installed Suse 11.1 on an old IBM T21 laptop. After solving some problems with the display and audio cds I have tried to install a network connection.
That means: Shutdown, insert pcmcia network card, reboot. Success, network card recognised.
After that, I started network configuration with yast2. Everything seems ok, I cancelled the configuration because the network card was not connected to my dsl modem. Out of curiosity I started the DSL configuration, also via yast2, looked at he screens and cancelled the installation (no connection to the DSL modem). As next step I wanted to connect the network card with my DSL modem. But there was no next step.
Since this cancelled installation LINUX complains about an D-BUS error: No Reply from DVD or even my home directory. It seems to me, that the cancelled installations changed something relevant to the D-Bus.
Is there a way to reconfigure the D-Bus system?
Alternatively, after a complete reinstall:
Is there a way to monitor the changes yast2 makes to the network/DSL configuration even if the action is cancelled?
Are there any instructions for a manual configuration of a network card and a DSL connection? At least I can see what I am doing then.
What is the suggest way to configure a network card after installation? Maybe: Do this only while connected to a network?
Thanks,
Michael
