opensuse 11.0

Hola, tenemos un servidor HP Proliant DL380 con Opensuse 11.0 que después de arrancar y estar unos 30 minutos encendido se cuelga. Sabeis que puede ser. Si le instalamos un windows server funciona a la perfección.

three things:

1st: it is okay for you to use Spanish–online translated yours to:
“Hello, we have a servant HP Proliant DL380 with Opensuse 11.0 that
after starting and being approximately 30 minutes lit, it is hung. You
know that can be. If we install to him a windows server it works to
perfection.” translate mine to Spanish at
<http://translate.google.com/translate_t#>

2nd: is it openSUSE 11.0 or is it SUSE Enterprise Linux Server (SLES)
version 11? if it is SLES you should ask at forums.novell.com because
you PAY for support, and because they have more experience with that
system, over there…

learn which it is, for sure with: cat /etc/SuSE-release

3nd: if it is openSUSE i say sorry i asked you (but, HP sells them
loaded with SLES) and, i think we need some more details before we
could help a lot:

  1. has it always hung after about 30 minutes? or did that just begin?

a. if it just started happening, what changed? did you add
software, change a cron job, edit any configuration files, begin a new
procedure, install an update, switch power supplies, change any
hardware, make any new connections, remove some previously connected
hardware…etc etc etc

b. if it has been happening all along (and it is SLES), have you
called HP?

  1. is your openSUSE 11.0 fully updated and patched? do you run YaST
    Online Update regularly?

  2. when you say after 30 minutes it is hung (30 minutos encendido se
cuelga) what does that mean? does the mouse freeze (are you running
X?) or does the running application throw up an error? are there any
error messages? what is the last thing you see on your monitor? are
there any error messages/hints in the logs?

  3. if an application freezes, which? what applications is your server
    running (what are you ‘serving’?)

  4. if there are no hints in the logs: can you install atop and
configure it to take a snapshot each minute…

  5. have you run memtest against the RAM (yes, i know you said it works
with Windows…LOTS of sometimes flaky RAM works with windows and not
    Linux…Linux is TOUGH on RAM…
