With the forthcoming release of 11.0 on the horizon I was wondering if there
will be, or is, a working version of fglrx. I am running 11.0 RC1 when I
use the current version of FGLRX (fglrx_7_1_0_SUSE103-8.493-1.i386) I get
the following message :-
[fglrx:firegl_init_module] ERROR firegl_stub_register failed
I know the software is for 10.3 (and worked perfectly) but I cannot find any
alternative. Any suggestions?
I haven’t tried it on openSUSE 11.0 RC1, but I’m quite sure, that you could use the installer from amd.com. But I think, that there will be quite soon an official release/build for 11.0

For some (unknown to me) reason when in ‘init 3’ mode the drm driver was
loaded, once removed the fglrx driver loaded no problems and it seems to be
very fast under openSuSE 11.0 RC1
I installed the driver and it did not allow me to enable effects in Kwin, however if I switch to X render I can use about 40% of the effects. Wobbly Windows is not one of them, but the fact that I can use effects is a good sign.
