openSUSE 11.0 fails to load PCMCIA CompactFlash

I have openSUSE 11.0. For some reason it fails to load PCMCIA CompactFlash. Automatic detection and mounting used to work without any problems in Debian. I need help to get it to automatically mount every time, so that the photos could be easily imported to digiKam by my father.

How to post a new thread? I am a new user of this forum!

Sorry for impatience, but do I have any hope? If it is any help, then I used an application called Powertop. I didn’t try to use the CF card before applying the settings in there, so I don’t know if it changed anything.

I am going to leave the country today (it’s already night) and its very important to have the ability to import photos to this laptop, as this is what it is primarily used for. But I think that there is no hope. :frowning: I will still be up for 15 minutes and then I will most likely have to give up.

Hi,

i can confirm the problem.

It seems to be kernel related. After updating the kernel to 2.6.27-rc3.2.1 the problem vanished.

I did the update like described here:
Kernel-2.6.20-146-default Suse 10.2 Install - openSUSE Forums

Good luck,
Robert
