OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 Novell Edition (evaluation) lacks built-in dictionary

The spellchecker will do nothing on a new installation (not an upgrade) of OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 Novell Edition (evaluation) due to the lack of a built-in dictionary or thesaurus. I know you can go to the OpenOffice.org website & download a dictionary (as an extension) to get this to work but that is cumbersome. OpenOffice.org 3.1 Novell Edition has dictionaries & thesuarus built-in to the install. What gives?
