If I use openoffice on my opensuse 11 machine, it will open a .doc file with no problem. However, if I open a document on my server (freenas), the icon just bounces about then stops. This seems to do something to openoffice and it won’t open a local document again until after I reboot. If I take the file that I was trying to open on the server, and copy it to the local desktop, it opens with no problem. CIFS is enabled on the server.
So I have 2 problems : A) if openoffice hits a fault condition with a file, it will only recover after reboot and B) openoffice can’t open a file on the server.
By reboot I mean alt-ctrl-backspace
