Hi all,
I have a strange problem which I’ve encountered for a long time but still weren’t able to solve it. In openoffice writer, when clicking on extra->literature database the program immediately crashes. I encounter this problem with all the latest versions of Oo (3.2,3.1…) and on OpenSuse and on Kubuntu, so I guess it must be a widespread problem. Does anyone know a solution for this please?
Thanx!

this turned up a while ago already. try executing the following command in
a (user) console:
export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=none
and start
OO.o then. in my case, this (temporarily) solves the problem. there’s a
bug already reported, but i don’t have the no./link handy.

Hi,
thanx! Your solution seems to work. How long does this ‘temporarily’ solution works for you?

since one or two months, don’t remember exactly. doesn’t happen with OO.o
downloaded directly from their website though. right now i’m using the
tarball from one of their pre-release versions.
