Openoffice crashes on startup

I get no error messages except that there is a file to recover. If I click on start recovery there is a pause and then the application quits with no error messages. If I click on cancel it opens a recovery window and crashes.

What are the command line options to get some sort of error message?

I’m getting the same problem, although I had some issues during install. I’m currently installing OpenOffice.org 3.1 and hoping that solves the issue.
