I have Opensuse 11 installed on an amd 3700+ with nvidia 4 video card
and 2gb memory.
When I try to run openoffice 3.0.0.3.6-1.1, I see the splash screen for
a millisecond, it then disappears and the program doesn’t run.
What can be done to fix this?

If you try to launch ‘oowriter’ or ‘soffice’ from the command line do
you get any output that helps?

No, all that happens is the splash screen flashes and quickly
disappears.
