OpenOffice 3.2 and KDE3

I found that KDE3 integration no longer works in OpenOffice 3.2 despite openoffice-kde package installed. Can anybody please clarify the issue?

Seems to work well when starting with

OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=kde soffice

but cannot itself determine the type of desktop.
