I have look many times todays from Index of /repositories/OpenOffice.org:/UNSTABLE/openSUSE_11.0 but not find OpenOffice 3.0 Suse-version (Novell-edition)…
When it maybe comes to update…?
I know .org-version, but I will ‘native Suse-version’

Is there some big differences between these versions?
Has somebody tried it already?
I wonder should I update to OpenOffice 3 or not…

Isn’t 3.0 still in beta?
No, 3.0.0.3.4-xxx is rc4
A lot of the things in OO3 are already in Novell Version 2.4; so unless you want a particular enhancement, there is no point in updating.
Wait until Novell Version 3 which will probably have things which will not make it to the Sun version for some time.
Yes, I wait, but when it maybe come out?
I hope you know litlle more than I…?
sorry my poor ‘english’
OK, but wath more intresting include to OpenSuse/Novell-version/Edition than .org-version?

New .org-version include about:
support for MS Access 2007 .accdb files, improved support for VBA macros, and a new ability to read MS Office Open XML files, it’s even easier to make the change away from legacy MS Office software."
OpenOffice 3.0 ships

You have to buy SLED in order to get access to the Novell version.
Oh no! Original I will know when maybe comes OpenOffice 3.0 final-version to OpenSuse? Now it is 3.0.0.3.4-2.2 and it is OO 3.0 rc4 not final.
But John Hudson tell how much better is Novell-edition. And one other say Go-OO is beter too…
But how they is better? And know anybody, when maybe 3.0-final-version from repos comes to OpenSuse?
I will wait it now.
Funny, I’ve been using it on openSUSE for the past two years; I even got the last update by using the openSUSE updater.
OpenOffice 3 was just released sow how could you have using it for 3 years ???

Hi All,
I am like many out there would like to upgrade to OpenOffice 3.0.
Can we expect to see an openSuSE 11.0 repository in the very near future?
If not is there a work around or how to out there to go to the latest?
Finally, who leads the pack OpenOffice.org, Novell or SUN? I’d like to go for the latest.
I know there are many questions there, but OpenOffice 3.0 seems to be an important milestone for open source.
And also , can we expect to see an openSuSE 10.3 repository in the very near future?
you could look in:
opensuse/repositories/OpenOffice.org:/UNSTABLE/openSUSE_Factory/
the OpenOffice_org-3.0.0.3.5 rpms there work for openSUSE-11.0
“…OpenOffice.org 3.0 integration continues and should be much better in this release.” …include OpenSuse 11.1 beta3… It is 3.0.0.6 (NOT 3.0.0.3.5 like in 11.0)
