The recent update to openjdk (1.7.0.85-24.21) for OpenSUSE 13.1 (x86_64) appears to leak shared memory. This problem doesn’t occur with 1.7.0.55-24.17.
For example, after starting Netbeans with 1.7.0.85-24.21 installed I can see 63 shared memory segments in use by the java process, whereas I only see one shared memory segment in use by the java process when 1.7.0.55-24.17 is installed. Over time the number of shared memory segments in use increases until they are exhusted. At present 1.7.0.85-24.21 is unusable, but I would like to upgrade from 1.7.0.55-24.17 due to the number of reported security issues.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is this something I should report as a bug?
cheers, Simon
