Hello, OpenSuSE is one of my favorite Linux distros and i would really like to be able to use it full time on my desktop but one thing is preventing me from doing that…OpenDNS. Ive tried to set it up using yast but have failed every time, i tried to use knetworkmanager but it didn’t even show my autoeth0 connection. any help? thank you.
If you wish to manually setup your network in openSUSE and you do not use wireless and you have no local router, then you can place the DNS servers into your network setup. If you have a local router, you should put the openDNS servers into that router and everyone can use them. If you do not use wireless, you can change openSUSE to use the Traditional method of using ifup and then enter the openDNS servers. You can find info on openDNS here:

To change openSUSE to use ifup do this:
YaST / Network Devices / Network Services / If you get a Warning you are using Network Manager, it must be disabled
/ Global Options Tab / Select Bullet for >> Traditional Method with ifup
/ Hostname/DNS Tab / Name Servers and Domain Search List / Name Server 1= 208.67.222.222/ Name Server 2=**208.67.220.220
**/ Press OK
I suggest you log out and back in and then go to http://welcome.opendns.com/ To test your setup.
