OpenCL1 conflict with Nvidia 560 driver again

The problem was previously resolved but showed up again and the other thread isn’t helping because I’m not getting any options to install anything differently. I’m just getting a conflict of:

File /usr/lib/libOpenCL.so.1.0.0
from install of
nvidia-compute-G06-32bit-560.35.03-28.2.x86_64 (ahjohlinna nvidia)
conflicts with file from package
libOpenCL1-32bit-2.3.1-4.1.x86_64 (@System)

I’ve just been waiting a few days but nothing is changing so far. I’m not sure how to proceed.

You are using the Nvidia drivers from an external Nvidia repo (CUDA?). So not under the control from Stefan Dirsch.

The latest available driver in the Nvidia repo for openSUSE is still 550.127.05-27.1 and doesn’t show any conflict.

@halfnhalf No issues here with the cuda_12.6.2_560.35.03_linux.run file and then updated with the NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-565.57.01.run file…

Since it’s a @system file, consider overwriting

I ignored the conflict and the system boots but there is no splash screen and then it pauses with a black screen for a couple minutes before showing sddm. Not seeing much in journalctl -b but there is a lot of drkonqi-coredump-processor. I don’t really know what to look for though and I’m not sure what libopencl1 really does. So far everything is working minus the long boot times but I’d like to fix this and understand it, if anyone has any recommendations…

The 30 seconds delay is already discussed broadly in the forum. Simply remove splash=quite from the kernel command line.
