OpenBox autostart file won't run

The OpenBox ~/.config/openbox/autostart file isn’t being read by OpenBox on openSUSE. I’ve tried it several times, but none of the commands/apps are executed by OpenBox.
This same file and location works fine under a number of other distros running OpenBox. So I’m wondering if I should be doing something specific to openSUSE?

What login manager do you use?
Does that look familiar?

PC: oS 12.3 x86_64 | i7-2600@3.40GHz | 16GB | KDE 4.10.2 | GTX 650 Ti
ThinkPad E320: oS 12.3 x86_64 | i3@2.30GHz | 8GB | KDE 4.10.2 | HD 3000
HannsBook: oS 12.3 x86_64 | SU4100@1.3GHz | 2GB | KDE 4.10.2 | GMA4500

Which version of openSUSE?

Quite familiar. The display manager is lxdm.

12.2/3 and now on Tw too.

To get around this issue I created the file:

~/.xinitrc

and put inside it:

exec openbox-session

Now my autostart is read and elements executed.

Glad you found a solution and thanks for sharing so that the next user
who suffers from that can find it.
