I use os linux open suse 11.2, adaptec sata 2 raid 1430sa and 4 identical hard disks sumsung hd500hj. in the controllers utility raid10 array size is 1Tb. but in os array size is 500Gb. os was installed previously on a hard drive connected to the motherboard. I use fs ext4 (it does not matter). how to make in os 1Tb array?
I asked this question Adaptc co. And they answered the following:
If the array size is correct and the partition size in Linux shows a smaller amount, this may be due to the fact that you may have used a drive with partition information already on it to create the array. You would need to modify those partitions using operating system tools (if this is possible in your setup. Unfortunately, we do not support these kinds of operations, as they are questions you must direct to the operating system manufacturer. Our controller does not deal with partitions or data as these components belong to a different O/S layer. Our controllers only deal with the binary representation of data being written to the platters. There may be third party tools that could allow you to change the partitions sizes, however you will need to get this information from the O/S
manufacturer.
Please’ll show something or tell me where I can refer the matter
