Open software buttons in tooltray

Hi,

I am just starting using OpenSuse after years of Mandriva. Seems to be going well but I would like some advice.

I am used to having a button on the tool tray for each package that I have open which allows me to quickly move between packages in different desktops. There are none showing at the moment so I have to try to remember which desktop each is on to get between them.

Can I set up KDE4 to do this? Also, can I set a package to appear on all desktops, I used to have this enabled for gkrellm so I could always see it.

-=WELCOME=- new poster Mike! sure you can set that up, try:

-right click blank space desktop, select unlock widgets
-right click on “the cashew” on the panel (you called it “tool tray”)
-select “Add Widgets” on the panel’s pop-up controls
-find widget named “Smooth Tasks”, left click grab it, pull down to tray
-left click on blank space on desktop (just to close the panel controls)
-right click blank space desktop, select lock widgets

sure, say you have gkrellm (whatever that is) running, just left click
the tiny icon on the far left edge of the gkrellm title bar, then in the
pop-up menu select “To Desktop” and then “All Desktops”…

hmmmm…i’ve not checked, that may or may not persist over a boot…try
it…
