Open Office and dhcpp0

Hello, when I open Open Office, I get the following message:

“Either anther instance of OpenOffice.org is accessing your personal settings or your personal settings are locked. Simultanesous access can lead to inconsistencies in your personal settings. Before continuing, you should make sure user “jesus” closes OpenOffice.org on host “dhcppc0”. Do you really want to Coninue?”

But my host seems to be dhcppc0, at least this is what appears when I open the shell. I don’t know how to access dhcppc0 and close the service.

Can anybody help me?

Never got that warning before but maybe you have another instance of OOo
opened in background.

Another thing to try is renaming OOo user profile folder
(~/.openoffice.org/3/user) so it recreates a fresh and new one. OOo profile
folder tends to get messed up a bit.

I have got this error and got it fixed. Below is the procedure to get rid off this error.

  1. Browse to the open office folder. usually c:/users/(username)/appdata/roaming/openoffice.org/3/
  2. Here you will find a file named “.lock”.
  3. Delete this file and resart the system.

This is good for Vista systems. Might be same for any operating system as this application is for all the platforms.
