Open New Tab From Places Bar

I don’t seem to have very much in the context menu on the places bar in Dolphin or Konqueror.
How do I add “Open In New Tab”?

Also, I can make Konqueror always show the tab bar, but I can’t find the equivalent setting in Dolphin though.

AFAIK Dolphin does not have a TAB bar, like Konqueror.

You can drag any folder to the Places bar, never seen an option in there for “Open in New Tab”. I open a new Tab from the menu, then click on the folder I want to open in Places.
If you don’t see Places, press F9 to show it, close Dolphin, restart it. That should bring back latest used view.

you should not expect them to be same or have the same features…
on the other hand, you can always request a feature be added…

In lieu of “Open in New Tab” I use Split. If you don’t see it, right
click on the menu bar, and go to Configure Toolbars. It’s more of a
Midnight Commander mode than new tabs, but works great for my purposes.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘tab bar’.

Hope that helps…

So is there no way to customise the context menu in the Places Panel to add ‘Open In Tab’?

I wasn’t very clear when I first posted as I mixed the use of the word ‘Bar’ with ‘Places Bar’ meaning the Panel and ‘Tab Bar’ meaning I can make Konqueror always show a tabbed view, even when only one tab is open.

I can right-click on a folder in Dolphin and ‘Open In Tab’ to get a tabbed view, but I can’t make that view persist when only one tab is open.
