Open In New Window Default

Greetings All,

Is there a way to set the default when clicking on a folder to open in new window?
The default action appears to open in the same window. I’ve gone though every
Dolphin option I can find, and there does not appear to be any setting that affect this.
Konqueror DOES have a setting, but it seems to be ignored.

I am running Suse 11.3, KDE 4.4

Thanx in advance

Rich

The konqueror setting is for the webbrowsing mode. I searched, what you want is a feature from the early days. Imagine what happens if I had to work like that with a 16 folder deep webdevelopment environment.
A thing you could think of is to create a shortkey for the desired action.

Hi richardrosa,

In Dolphin you can work with the Column view. It works great for me. Just click on the Columns option on the top and start to navigate your folders and see what happens.

You can also place a button in the toolbar to “Open in New Window”. I know that it’s not the same, but, appart from what henkasdf says, it’s all you can do.
