open apps not showing on task panel. HELP!

hi. i don’t know if i’m in the right place, but maybe someone here
can help me.

i’m very new to openSUSE and linux altogether. i’m running openSUSE 11.1 with gnome 2.24.1

my problem is as stated in the title. all the applications i have open aren’t on my task panel. they were before today and i’ve been using openSUSE for about a month now.

i have to alt-tab in order to switch between apps.

is this something minor? how can i fix this?

i should mention i installed screenlets and have been fooling around with it today. maybe this has something to do with it?

Any help would be very greatly appreciated. thanks

hi thanks for your reply.

i should’ve done that. what i did instead was restore the default panel by typing this in the terminal.

> gconftool-2 --shutdown
> rm -rf ~/.gconf/apps/panel
> pkill gnome-panel

now i can’t move it. i like my panel at the top of the screen. now it doesn’t move.

even when i right-click > Allow Panel to be Moved. it won’t move

how do i fix this now?
